The Problem

Globally, over 13% of food is lost between harvest and the retail market, contributing to a significant environmental challenge. According to the UN’s 2024 SDG 12.3 Food Waste Index Report, more than a billion tons of food are wasted annually that often end up in landfills, this exacerbates environmental issues and contributes to 8-10% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
